Manning ThoutReader Setup Guide
There are 2 easy steps to setting up the ThoutReader:
1. Download and Install the ThoutReader (it's free)
Manning TR format ebooks require TR version 1.7.0 or higher. If you have trouble
downloading the ThoutReader please refer to the OSoft
ThoutReader Download Guide.
2. Purchase, Download and Activate Your Manning ebook and Registration Key
Please follow the ThoutReader registration and ebook (aka package) installation process described in the ThoutReader Quick Start guide included with your ThoutReader. An online version of the quick start guide is also available from the OSoft information center.
You can download your Manning ebook in the ThoutReader format and registration key from your account on our website. You only need to download and activate your Manning registration key once per reader. You can install additional ebooks in your reader without downloading and re-activating your Manning key.
Your Manning ebook will be in the Library tab of the ThoutReader. Double click on the book title to open it.
Answers to Common Questions
- Can I install the Manning ebooks I purchased on more than one computer?
- Yes. You may download and install your Manning ebooks on as many computers as you personally use and own. The Registration Key is user specific and is not tied to a specific machine. Simply download your Manning ebook and key again for each computer you use (e.g. desktop and laptop).
- Can you print out sections of the book?
- Yes, but... What we mean is that JEditPane that
renders the content currently does not have print functionality. To print, copy
the section you are viewing and paste it into a word processing program for
printing. A future version of the ThoutReader will have the ability to
directly print the current, open node.
Note: Manning is unique in this regard. While other publishers limit the ability to print, Manning has a history of openness with our customers. We trust they will protect the author's intellectual property. - Where do I go for help?
